Clinical Research Ireland represents a growing network of physicians, hospitals and specialist clinics interested in working with the medical research community. Our extensive list of sites enables us to find physician investigators for virtually any specialty, and through them we provide high-quality biological specimens with all of the required patient demographic or clinical data information.
Our service offerings include sourcing biological specimens that have been retrospectively collected and stored in biobanks across Ireland. However, we also collaborate with academic research groups and biopharmaceutical industry partners in the design and project management of prospective research studies and clinical trials for in vitro diagnostics. Acquisition, collection, preservation and transport of biological specimens are carried out to the highest standard. This high quality is maintained by compliancy with standardised processes and controls for biospecimen and data collection. Clinical Research Ireland regularly works with industrial partners to find the quickest, most efficient methods of accomplishing industrial biological processes.
All of our biological specimens are collected under Ethics Review Board approval with appropriate informed consent as required by international guidelines for best practice. In line with the mission of Clinical Research Ireland, all of our biological specimen acquisition is influenced by the demands of the medical community. Currently our biological specimen collection is targeted to support our priority research projects in various therapy areas, with a particular focus on cardiovascular, respiratory, oncology, endocrinology, rheumatology and neurology.
